We had the pleasure of staying a week at The Coral Reef Inn and enjoyed our stay. They staff really treated us like family and even fixed Kem home made chicken soup when she was not feeling too well. They gave us some nice local resturants to try that were very nice and ones we would not have found on own own. They even drove Kem to the ferry at 6:15 AM so she could take a tour on the main land as he did not want to rely on taxi service at that hour. They have only a few guest rooms so this is really like staying in a large house. There is a kitchen on the top floor with a stove/oven, microwave, gas BBQ, dishes, pots and pans, etc. so you can have your own meals or snacks. There is plenty of space to sit in the sun and relax on both the second and third floors as well as a nice selection of books and games. They arranged our dive package with Dive Paradise and even provided beach towels for the dives. We found taxis fairly easy to obtain on 20th Avenue for the times we did not want to walk to town. Their bathrooms are very nice and large, especially the shower area. This was nice when we returned from a day of diving and wanted to get the salt water off of us and our grear. Down the street is the local super market which now includes food, drink, clothes, etc. so we could always stop by and obtain what we need as we walked to the dive shop. We enjoyed being a little bit more inland on this trip to see more of the local scene rather than all the normal tourist hotels on the main street. |
