After travelling around Mexico for several days and staying in the broadest range of hotels, inns and hostels, we were thrilled to spend several days at the Coral Reef Inn in Cozumel. The small inn is charming, clean, spacious and friendly. Our hosts Jerry and Leona were fabulous and treated us like long time friends, sometimes taking us to meet our dive master and really making us feel welcome. The inn is close to the main strip but away from the major traffic. The quiet AC is perfect at night and we never wanted for hot water. The inn is impeccably maintained and our room was large with a comfy king size bed and had a large ensuite bathroom. Designed with divers in mind we took advantage of the wash-up station for our equipment and the shared open air kitchen for several meals with groceries from the supermarket which was a short walk down the same street. We had come for the diving and our hosts graciously set us up with a fellow Canadian who gave us great private lessons and had us diving some of his favorite spots on the reef in no time. Cozumel and the Coral Reef Inn were definitely the highlight of our vacation.
