we took a last minute trip to czm because there was no snow on the west coast and we opted to dive instead. we spent 2 nights at the Coral Reef. our friends were at the Barracuda and they had no rooms available, so we stayed here because it was close to them. the Coral Reef property is ultra clean. the hosts unobtrusive and helpful. the property looks very new, and is very well kept. we had a king bed in our room (#4) on the second floor. it faced the street and was very quiet. the room had a spacious bathroom and shower, always hot water. there was clean drinking water available and a pitcher for your room. the room had a fan, ac, a fridge, a cupboard, and a REALLY comfortable king bed with good linens and pillows. the common areas have a library, some notebooks with local menus and recommendations for eating. we did not use the rooftop kitchen, but it was super and well-stocked with an honor bar. There is a huge grocery store 2-3 blocks away. the roof also has bins for rinsing diving gear if you need. we did not use the internet, but were told that it would cost $10 US for your entire stay. it is an easy walk to the plaza area of town, and we felt very safe in the neighborhood. we paid in cash upon arrival, and it was about $120 dollars for 2 nights, which was with a cash discount. we subsequently moved to the Barracuda to be with our friends and be on the ocean, but if you don't need to be close to the sea, the Coral Reef rooms are extremely comfortable, immaculately clean, and a great value with open air common areas and a friendly, laid-back vibe.
